Trip Overview
South-west China's mountain province, with a mild climate all year. You see the limestone Stone Forest near Kunming, Dali's lake and pagodas, and the UNESCO-listed old town of Lijiang.
The trip ends with a cable car up the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Travellers from Nepal will feel at home among the hills, Tibetan-style villages and cool air. Your China visa is included.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Pickup at Kunming airport and transfer to your hotel
- Evening at Green Lake Park
- Walk among the stone pillars of the Stone Forest and visit a Sani village
- Late afternoon at a Kunming temple
- Train to Dali (about 2 hours)
- Visit the Three Pagodas and walk Dali Old Town
- Drive around Erhai Lake and stop at Xizhou to see Bai courtyard houses and tie-dye workshops
- Train to Lijiang (about 1.5 hours)
- Walk the old town's canals and climb Lion Hill for the rooftop view
- Cable car up the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, then the blue pools of Blue Moon Valley
- Evening Impression Lijiang show
- Last morning in the old town, then transfer to Lijiang airport
