Vietnam travel guide
Why Vietnam is worth the trip
Vietnam is long and thin, and each region feels different. The north has Hanoi, the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay and the mountains of Sapa. The centre has Da Nang's beaches, the Golden Bridge and the old towns of Hoi An and Hue. The south has busy Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta and the island of Phu Quoc. Food is fresh and cheap, and hotels are good value.
Five days covers one region. With eight to ten days you can combine the north with Da Nang or Phu Quoc, using short domestic flights. Ha Long Bay is best seen with a night on a cruise.

Getting to Vietnam from Nepal
There is no direct flight from Kathmandu. Most routes stop once in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur and land in Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City. We book you into the city where your trip starts and out of the city where it ends, so you never travel back the same way.
Before you fly
Nepali passport holders need a Vietnam e-visa, and it is included in all our Vietnam packages. Your passport must be valid for six months; keep a printed copy of the e-visa. The local money is the dong. Cards work in cities and hotels, but carry some cash for markets and small shops.
